Matchbox Twenty & Counting Crows Bringing North American Tour To Daily’s Place

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Bold Events and Live Nation today announced that two of music’s most beloved bands and biggest hit makers are joining up to play Daily’s Place this summer.  Multi-platinum selling groups MATCHBOX TWENTY and COUNTING CROWS will bring “A Brief History of Everything Tour 2017,” presented by Live Nation, to Jacksonville’s newest entertainment destination on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 6:45 p.m.  Tickets for the concert will go on sale to the general public at www.dailysplace.com beginning Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m.  Jags365 and Daily’s Rewards Members will have access to presale tickets beginning next Thursday, March 30 at 10 a.m.  

“No matter what I will ever do, nothing feels like home as much as playing these songs with these guys and it never will,” said Matchbox Twenty lead singer-songwriter ROB THOMAS. “And I can’t wait to spend another summer out there on the road with the Crows.”  Thomas previously teamed with Counting Crows for a hugely successful 2016 summer co-headline tour.

This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of Matchbox Twenty and their breakthrough debut album “Yourself or Someone Like You,” currently certified 12x platinum. Fueled by classic singles “Real World” and “Back 2 Good” and No. 1 smash hits “Push” and “3AM,” the album proved a worldwide sensation and instantly established Matchbox as global superstars. Since then, Matchbox Twenty has achieved cumulative worldwide album sales of over $30 million and earned multiple No. 1 singles including “Bent”, “Unwell” and “If You’re Gone” along with countless accolades including five Grammy nominations. 

Counting Crows ha sold more than 20 million albums worldwide after exploding onto the music scene with their multi-platinum breakout album “August and Everything After” in 1993. The band released their seventh studio album, “Somewhere Under Wonderland,” in September 2014. Daily’s Place is currently under construction adjacent to EverBank Field, the home of the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars.  A partnership between the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville, the state-of-the-art facility’s 5,500-seat amphitheater and flex facility will sit beneath an iconic roof structure, creating a one-of-a-kind outdoor concert atmosphere.
