JACKSONVILLE’S FIRST OFFICIAL JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION AT DAILY’S PLACE!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– The first ever official Jacksonville Juneteenth Celebration is coming to Daily’s Place on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 4 p.m. This community centered, family friendly and engaging experience will feature exciting LIVE performances from some of our national top tier gospel artists such as Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Maranda Curtis, Todd Dulaney and JJ Hairston. Also featured are some of Jacksonville’s most influential and premiere local talents, a youth talent showcase, a Jacksonville community-based unity choir, vendors and event merchandise. The Jacksonville Juneteenth Celebration is an event in celebration of Juneteenth (also known as FREEDOM DAY] which is a holiday celebrated on 19 June to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

The purpose of the Jacksonville Juneteenth Celebration is to create a faith-based concert event and exhibition inclusive and open to all citizens of the Jacksonville community. The goal is to create a unified environment that will recognize and heighten awareness of this monumental event in African American history, both culturally and spiritually.

• General Admission for this event is FREE.
